Ryan and Lacey Kohnen, founders of Caltex Medical, with their family

Boerne residents Ryan and Lacey Kohnen founded Caltex Medical, Inc. in 2025 with a mission to deliver cost‑effective, fully managed, life‑saving AED programs to schools, churches, youth sports organizations, and smaller organizations. Ryan’s experience working for an AED manufacturer from 2015–2017 introduced him to numerous survivors of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) whose lives were saved because an AED was accessible and properly maintained. He also saw firsthand how many organizations struggled to afford, manage, and keep their AED programs compliant.

Driven by a commitment to strengthen the safety of the community they are active in, Ryan and Lacey built Caltex Medical to ensure that schools, churches, and families throughout San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country have reliable, ready‑to‑use AEDs — giving every SCA victim the best possible chance of survival.
